Leslie Fanelli, Artistic Director and Founder, Theatre in Motion
Recently, I was indeed fortunate to attend a presentation by JoAnn Jackovino at a Barnes and Noble Bookstore. I was delighted with her array of beautifully written books, as well as her seasoned, professional presentation. Her stellar experience as a loving educator was apparent.
My favorite of her children’s books include The Tale of Benjamin Bulldog: Be a Buddy, Not a Bully, which addresses the dire issue of bullying in a powerful and caring manner. I also applaud Tommy’s Tiny Truck: The Story of Tommy, a Child with Autism, once again written with a caring manner, as well as being informative. Without a doubt, her other books are worthy of high praise. Elements of Story Writing: A Teacher’s Resource and Student’s Workbook is of great value to all writers, from beginning to advanced. Meet Humphrey the Magic Frog’s Alphabet Friends utilizes phonics and the alphabet; plus, it is absolutely charming. Loralee Fly: The Fly Who Simply Couldn’t augments Ms. Jackovino’s enchanting and extraordinarily educational books.
